Maimoona Badsha, Founder of Badsha Legal, enrolled at the Tamil Nadu Bar in the year of 1993. With a career spanning over three decades, she has built Badsha Legal to epitomise legal prowess, where integrity is more than just a word—it’s a way of life.

She began her career in district courts and consumer forums, won her first case in the very first month of her career, ventured into building Kerala’s first legal process outsourcing company when “outsourcing” was merely a catch word, was affiliated as a Foreign lawyer to Singapore based law Firm, and has diligently honed her legal acumen and mastered the intricacies of various legal domains. For more than a decade she has been the Group Legal Advisor to Apollo Hospitals & its Group Companies, India’s largest network of hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, medical centres, Clinical Trial sites. She was appointed by the Chief Justice of Madras High Court as a Member of the High Court of Madras, serving on the Gender Sensitization and Internal Compliance Committee-I (GSICC-I). Additionally, she was selected by the Governor of Tamil Nadu to serve as a member of the Madras University Senate.

Furthermore, she holds the esteemed position of Chairperson on the Technical Authorization Committee of India’s first commercial biobank. Her involvement in these roles underscores her keen interest in policy making and the implementation of the law. She represented Apollo Hospitals in the highly charged Justice Armughaswamy Commission of Inquiry into the demise of Late CM J. Jayalalithaa. She spearheaded the defense of her client, and established a landmark precedent in one of the most significant trials in the country’s legal history. The Times of India reported in its coverage on the Inquiry that as “the only woman in the courtroom, Badsha has been no pushover, say people privy to the proceedings”
